Be Still

Sunday, July 25, 2010

I just finished editing the PowerPoint slides for Sojourn's 5 p.m. service and this verse stuck with me. My soul would do well to be still.

Be still, my soul, though dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then shall you better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe Thy sorrow and Thy fears.
Be still, my soul; Thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

Such wonderful truth. I'm not sure if the following stanza is from the same song, but it is one of my favorites....

Be still, my soul, Thy God will undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.

!!!! Love it. What hope!
