I'm Back!

It's true... I've been absent for a while. I've been busy!

I'm having fun couponing these days, and if you're on facebook I'm sure you're tired of hearing about it. Did I mention that I recently got 10 bottles of mouthwash for free AND made a little over $4 in cash and got $20 back in Rite Aid gift cards?

Yes. Yes, I did.

Also, you can see from that stack of books that the semester has started. Wes's last semester! I can't believe how fast our time in Louisville has gone. Never fear, we'll be here for at least another year. Wes has decided that one master's degree is not enough and will begin a ThM this winter before applying for his PhD at schools across America. Something tells me life on the brink of getting very interesting. I would like to note that by the time he is finished, he will have four degrees in higher education, and I will have one. I wonder if we could total them and each claim 2.5?

Speaking of Wes, he and Fred Casey are in a Hebrew class that they think might be the death of them. Here they are studying away. I think this might be a sight I encounter many nights this semester.

And why are they studying at the dining room table, you might ask? Well.

I'm painting our desk. {At the beginning of the semester. Of course I am!} First I gave it a once-over with black paint because it desperately needed touched up. My wonderful MIL painted it black for me while we were on our honeymoon three years ago, but it's had three years of wear and tear from the hubs... it was definitely time for a fresh coat. I begged Wes to let me paint the top a very pale blue/green, and I finally talked him into it he graciously let me. I hope it turns out okay. If not, as Wes reminds me, I have a lot of black paint left over...

{I think it's a lovely color. Behr's Valley Mist. Who needs black paint?!}

Let's see... what else? Oh -- I'm learning to sew! You might remember my first project: cloth napkins. Recently I made "curtains" for my bathroom closet to hide the clutter:

Kelly has been my very patient teacher. I'm working on a pillow now that I hope to be able to share with you soon!

And as far as things that I don't have pictures of...

I'm loving my Book Club! I finished our book for the month {the second in the trilogy} last weekend and started Eat, Pray, Love because I've heard so many good things about it. So far it's a good read; Gilbert's a great writer. I'm so happy to have gotten back into reading again.

And speaking of pictures, maybe I won't always have to subject you to iPhone photos, because I'm taking a photography class in October! I'm really excited. Ethel Alicia is going to let me borrow her fancy camera... and after I get a feel for things, maybe I'll buy my own! Maybe....

All of this fun has Juds in a tizzy. I never have time to make the bed anymore, never mind actually blog! That's my update for now. Have you missed me?! :)

You are on crafty chica! I'm really bummed that I missed the whole we can paint thing, but now it would be quite the task.

I didn't know you know Kelly! I know her too...from church.

Say something...
