Projects, Projects Everywhere!

I'm always full of projects, it seems....

I'm heading out in a bit to look for fabric for this project:

Doesn't that horrible leaf pattern make you want to cry? I've hated it forever -- it is absolutely not my style -- and it's time to do something about it!

And this project should definitely be done by now, but I ran into a snafu on the way:

Apparently Minwax's Wipe-On Poly isn't meant to be used over paint. {Even though lots of DIY bloggers use it for that purpose... ???} The top of the desk just isn't drying, and it is really frustrating me. I emailed Jenny to ask her about it, since I know she has used it on several fabulous makeovers, but I haven't heard back. I put two more coats of paint on this afternoon, and I'm hoping it will dry well and solve the problem (I'll just forget about the poly). But just in case that doesn't help, you can see that I'm saving my painter's tape for Plan C. {Note: I'm pretty sure painter's tape won't be necessary for Plan C, because I'm pretty sure that plan involves throwing the desk out the window. Hhmph.}

I had Friday off, and it was glorious! I've gotten so much done around the house this weekend and also managed to relax, too. I've been working a lot of Fridays this year {for various reasons -- but sadly, most of them were self-imposed!}, but when I actually have them off I remember why I switched to a 4-day work week in the first place.

I'll leave you with a link to a project I wish I could undertake. Wes had better thank his lucky stars for Village Manor's textured ceilings....
