It's been a while. How about I show you some things that I am thisclose to purchasing for our tiny abode? {Images are clickable for sources; all are from etsy.}

This super-cute pillow. {I must say, I don't like what it's sitting on! At least not in combination with the pillow.}

This fun print. {Note: it would say "Welcome to our place.} It would be a cute pop of color in my otherwise muted color scheme, and I have just the place for it.

Also, this print.

This print has a story. It reminds me of my grandfather, to whom I was very close (he passed away in 2004). There was a cardinal {nicknamed "Pappy"} who came to his bird feeder every day. Grampy would sit on the glider on his porch with a tin of peanuts (one of his favorite snacks), and Pappy would come to the porch, hoping for a treat! Eventually, Pappy was almost eating out of his hand. It was really amazing. Then, suddenly, Pappy never came back. My grandfather assumed he had died or something had happened to him, and he was so sad. He never attempted to "get to know" another bird like he had Pappy. So this print kind of reminds me of him and Pappy. :) I have a small 4x6 frame that I'd like for it to go in, so I'd have to ask the seller to shrink it for me.

{Now that I read back over that story, I'm thinking, "Did he really call the bird Pappy? Am I making that up?!" I can't remember! Do you ever do that with memories? It sounds weird to me now, but I'm pretty sure that was his name.}

Anyway. I am thinking seriously about clicking "purchase" on each one of those items! I did work overtime this week and last..... :)

I do like the birdie. It reminds me of my grandfather, too. He had a special telescope thing that he used to watch birds at the bird feeder and always kept a bird watcher's manual right next to it to look up each type of bird.

You're not making it up. I remember that! Your grandpa was so nice, he also used to feed our dog Murphy, who would escape EVERY morning and trot around the neighborhood. I guess you grandpa would share Muffy's treats with Murphy, because he kept coming back! We didn't find out until much later (after we put up a better fence), and you grandpa was sad that we had stopped Murphy from taking his daily walks.
