To Go!

Monday, March 7, 2011

My latest idea for being socially responsible {read: environmentally conscious} involves the purchase of a re-useable "to go" cup. I love fountain soda, but most of the places I frequent for a diet-coke or diet-pepsi fix have styrofoam cups, and styrofoam is not easily recycled {at least not in my area}. I found this little cup for $4 at TJ Maxx tonight, and I'm so excited! I will keep it in my car and fill it up when I'm out instead of getting a styrofoam -- or even plastic -- cup.

Now if I could just remember to take my own tupperware to restaurants instead of using their disposable to-go containers, I'd be set! I have never once remembered until it was too late. Apparently I need to keep some tupperware in my car, too.

And obviously I need something cute to hold all of these things in my backseat so it doesn't appear as if I live out of my vehicle. :)

It may not be safe to store all that plastic in your car; I don't know the specifics, but I know heat breaks down plastic and that can leave harmful things in whatever you consume.

Then again, that could all be made up. I haven't researched it, so don't take my word for it. Just a thought. :)
