You may not even care about this secret... but maybe you will! Ok, here goes.

















I posted this picture on facebook a while back, and a friend from college sent me a facebook message. He's been to culinary school, and he wanted to give me a tip about a better way to hard boil eggs to avoid that dark sulfer ring between the yolk and the white. I used to put eggs in lukewarm water, bring them slowly to a boil, boil them for 10 minutes, and then let them cool. He said:

try this for the eggs: put them in a pot of cold water, bring them slowly to a boil. as soon as the water starts boiling, shut it off and let the eggs sit in the hot water for 10 minutes. then put the eggs in an ice bath until they are cool. this will cook the eggs completely without drying out the yolks. also you wont have that green sulfur ring between the yolk and white. just bright white next to bright yellow and a nice fresh flavor.

I took his advice, and it worked!

I eat two hard-boiled egg whites {and a piece of toast!} for breakfast every morning, and I am happy to report that they are much prettier now. :)
