Today {Weekend Love}

Saturday, March 3, 2012

Today I woke up early and ran a 5k! My second ever. {Here are my thoughts about my first.}

It was actually pretty fun despite the cold. I finished in 34:24. I ran two miles straight, stopped to walk for a minute, and then finished the last mile. I am pretty proud of myself. I'm not setting any records by any means, but I was just happy to only have stopped once -- and only for a minute!

Now I am looking forward to the Throo the Zoo 5k in May with my friend Kari. {She's a champion, by the way -- just finished a half marathon in Disney! I'm totally going to slow her down.} It's been fun to run a little bit lately. As much as I love Zumba, I like mixing it up. And warmer weather will be much more conducive to that. I'm so ready!

After the race I had lunch with my friend Stephanie at the Butterfly Garden Café -- one of my favorite little cafés in Louisville. After that I went to Target and spent $90... I'm not totally sure on what. {How does that happen, exactly?} But I do know that $25 of it was on a new pair of jeans:

Oh -- and also? I bought those jeans in a size FOUR. Oh yes I did, girl, yes I did.

{I actually shouldn't really be bragging, seeing as I can't seem to move beyond the initial ten pounds I lost. But little victories like this certainly motivate me to keep trying!}

And finally, tonight we went to a fancy downtown restaurant, Rivue, with our dear friends Meg & CT. We spent a LOT of money & enjoyed ourselves -- especially Wes. It was a fun evening that we've been anticipating for a while.

All in all it's been a pretty fantastic Saturday! Tomorrow I plan to sleep in, clean, relax, and continue reading Book Two of The Hunger Games.

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend, too!

Sounds like a fun day. :) I just finished Book two of the Hunger Games today; my mom is letting me borrow book three on her kindle when I go up there so I don't have to wait till April.

I gave myself a pedicure today and it just wasn't the same. Miss you!
