A Slow Return to Normal

I'm feeling a little bit better every day. Bit by bit, slowly but surely. Yesterday I texted my boss and said, "Today is maybe the first day since {the end of April} that I haven't gone home after work and cried." My new coworker, Angela, is doing so well. I think we are going to make a great team. I feel somewhat on top of things -- I actually took time today to do a menial task like filing completed work orders! I still have a ton of work to do, and my days are filled to the brim with little-to-no down time, but overall, things are feeling more manageable now. It's hard to express how grateful I am that the worst seems to be over. {It's also hard to express how scared I am to type that -- what if I'm wrong?!}

You know how I can tell I'm feeling better? I'm making time for things. Like this past weekend: I borrowed a ladder from the maintenance shop and cleaned our light globes & ceiling fans. Tonight I pulled out our dressers -- for perhaps only the second time in the five years we've lived here! -- and vacuumed underneath them {okay, so the dust was just laying on the carpet -- gross!}. I'm pondering a new picture-frame purchase for our dining room {sound stupid, but takes mental energy I haven't had}. I'm actually blogging {albeit briefly}! And this happened over the weekend:

Hubs needed to go to Lowe's for garden supplies, so I grabbed a few paint chips. I'm ready for a paint-color change. Perhaps soon I'll have the energy to make that happen! I figured I'd start small with the bathroom. {And if you've had the pleasure of visiting a Village Manor bathroom, you know just how small I mean.}

I've been taking my supplements faithfully for... five days now! I am ready for them to kick in, but I know I need to give it more time. I haven't noticed a change yet, really, but I'm hopeful.

Have I mentioned that we're going to the beach this weekend?! Yes! With my bestie & her hubs and another couple we love. We're headed to Wilmington, North Carolina. We'll only be at the beach for two nights, and otherwise it's a lot of traveling, but I don't even care. Bring on the salt air and sunscreen and diet coke in coolers. I need a break, if only for a few days. Hopefully the next picture I post will be of sunshine & waves!
